Pulled Pork

This delicious slow cooked pulled pork recipe is from my mom (there are never left overs). Make the night before or start in the morning for a hearty dinner. Look for organic and preservative free ingredients, indulge and feel great the next day!

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion

  • 1/2 Cup ketchup (no sugar added)

  • 1/3 Cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 Cup dark brown sugar or pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 Cup tomato paste

  • 2 Tbsp sweet paprika

  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

  • 4 lbs boneless shoulder blade pork roast, cut into 4 pieces

  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard

Directions:

  •  In a 4 1/2 - 6 quart slow cooker, stir onion, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, sugar or maple, tomato paste, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.

  •  Add pork, turn to coat.

  •  Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours, or until internal temp is 185 and meat is tender, coming apart easily with a fork.

  •  Remove pork from cooker, turn to high, heat the sauce to a boil while stirring to thicken. Shred pork with fork, return to sauce, mix until coated.

  • Your pulled pork is now ready to serve. Great on top a bed of cooked zucchini,  cooked whole grain like quinoa or brown rice or over potatoes roasted or mashed!

We recommend you always use organic ingredients when available to reduce chemical exposure for your good health.
